thedailywhat: RIP: Maurice Sendak, at 83: Maurice Sendak, the beloved author and illustrator of Where The Wild Things Are, has died after complications from a recent stroke. He was 83. Sendak won nearly every major book award, including the Caldecott Medal,considered the Pulitzer Prize of children’s book illustration.
